Our Story

Most of us hold degrees in music from Arizona State University, where we first met. We first came together as Euphony in the fall of 2018 to present the Liebeslieder Waltzes by Brahms and Peter Schickele’s Lovesong Polkas.

In fall of 2019, we sang a program of settings of words by outstanding American poets, featuring Heavenly Hurt, a setting of Emily Dickinson poems by Alice Parker, and Frostiana, Randall Thompson’s collection of poems by Robert Frost.

We were preparing a semi-staged performance of J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion in spring of 2020, when the lockdown brought everything to a halt.

Now, we’re back, stronger than ever, with a full schedule for 2023-24.

Our Model

We are a group of musicians getting together to sing and play. We are in the process of creating a not-for-profit corporation, but for the moment, we are a cooperative. The leadership (music director, executive director) take no compensation; all income from ticket sales and gifts (which are NOT tax-deductible) is distributed among the performers. Your support ensures that all are treated as respected professionals.
