Melanie Holm, soprano, is from Nebraska and is currently based in Phoenix, where she is currently Teaching Artist in the Molly Blank Teaching Artist Program through ASU Gammage. In addition to singing with Euphony, she serves as the group’s operations manager and has been integral in organizing the ensemble’s inaugural concerts. Last spring, Melanie sang the role of Gretel in Arizona Opera’s OperaTunity program in schools all around Arizona. As part of ASU’s new works reading program, she has performed in Behold the Man and The Halloween Tree. She sang the role of Lillie in Babe: An Olympian Musical at both Arizona State University and the National Women’s Music Festival, and La Babette in a reading of the musical Big Red Sun. Melanie has brought her years of ballet and modern dance training to the opera stage, appearing as a dancer in Arizona Opera’s Rusalka, and as Galatea in a site-specific choreographed adaptation of Handel’s Acis and Galatea at the Tempe Center for the Arts. Additional performances include Owen Wingrave (Mrs. Julian) and The Magic Flute (Papagena) with Arizona State University, and The Gypsy Baron (Arsena), and Dido and Aeneas (Belinda) with the Mittelsächsisches Theater-Freiberg, Germany. An Encouragement Award Winner at the Metropolitan Opera District Auditions, Melanie holds degrees from Arizona State University (MM/Opera Performance), and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (BM/Voice with a Dance Minor), and is finishing her DMA/Voice at Arizona State University. She currently studies with Stephanie Weiss.
